DOD Committee Latest Updates

URGENT: HILLCREST NEEDS YOUR HELP!

The City of Little Rock is now considering revisions to the Hillcrest Design Overlay District that were

unanimously endorsed by the Hillcrest Residents Association Board and the Hillcrest DOD Committee.

These updates are specifically designed to help protect our neighborhood character. Unfortunately, this initiative has been the target of a misinformation campaign on social media. We must ALL do two things:

1. Get informed! Read an explanation of what the DOD revisions actually say at:

https://www.hillcrestresidents.com/_files/ugd/a3fb98_516a14f3cfe346c2b710f8f1e00f581b.pdf

2. Go to the Comments Box on the City’s website https://www.littlerock.gov/business/planning-and-development/hillcrest-dod/ and take one minute to express your SUPPORT for the DOD Revisions!

This vote impacts the entire city. We want all voices to be heard!

A Call for Civil Discourse

In recent days, some of the social media posts regarding the proposed changes to the Design Overlay District have gotten ugly. I would encourage everyone to conduct our dialogue on this issue with civility and respect for one another.

  • ï‚· We all care about our Hillcrest and want it to thrive. Just because someone has different ideas about how we get there doesn't make them a bad person. Please treat each other with respect.

  • ï‚· Recognize a person's right to advocate ideas that are different from your own.

  • ï‚· We should not resort to name calling. Please use appropriate language when discussing these issues.

  • ï‚· Keep comments constructive. Don’t turn a legitimate civil discourse into personal attacks.

  • ï‚· Make sure you do your research – don’t post information without a full understanding what is actually being proposed.
